Developers will break ground on a mini-city within a city next spring in Winnipeg.
Shindico Realty has unveiled plans for Grant Park Pavilions, a $200-million, 46-acre mixed-use development that will have a little bit of, well, everything.
The now-vacant land between Taylor Avenue and Pembina Highway in the city’s south end will feature restaurants, office space, flexible workspace, multi-family residential, seniors housing and entertainment.
“The intention is to be able to live, work and play in the same development. It will be the first of its kind in Winnipeg,” said John Pearson, a broker at Shindico Realty/IC&I Properties.
“This is one of the largest in-fill sites in the city of Winnipeg available for development. We’ve been working on assembling the necessary parcels of land for more than 10 years.”
The company is currently in “serious” dialogue with a number of potential occupants in all of the aforementioned categories. It could take five or 10 years for the development to be completely built out, Pearson said.
