Franchise winners named

The Canadian Franchise Association has named the winners in its annual competition for the best in the country for 2010.

The Canadian Franchise Association has named the winners in its annual competition for the best in the country for 2010.

In the category of new and emerging traditional franchises, the gold winner is Premiere Homecare Services; the silver winner is UCMAS Mental Health Services; and the bronze award went to Cobs Bread.

In the mature and established traditional franchises, the winners are: gold went to Expedia CruiseShip Centres; silver went to BioPed (limb and lower foot treatments); and the bronze went to the White Spot Restaurant chain.

In the new and emerging, non-traditional franchises, the gold award was captured by the Ground Guys, a landscaping firm; silver went to Nurse Next Door; while the bronze award was taken by Action Coach, which provides business training.

In the category of mature and established, non-traditional franchises, the gold winner is CertaPro Painters, with silver going to the vehicle repair service CarStar. Mr. Rooter, a plumbing business, took the bronze award.
