Over the past four years, photographer Dan Touloget has visited the construction site of the Independent more than 50 times to document the progress of the controversial 21-storey building and its growing presence in Mount Pleasant. Photo Dan Toulgoet


Since September 2015, Vancouver Courier photographer Dan Toulgoet has climbed a stepladder up through a narrow trapdoor to the roof of a building in Mount Pleasant more than 50 times.

Why?

To document the construction of Rize Alliance's controversial 21-storey Independent condo building and its growing presence in the neighbourhood.
