Vancouver Westside senior living provider Element Retirement Inc. has announced progress updates on upcoming new, large-scale residences in both downtown Victoria and Langley.

The company announced this month it has secured a location for its luxury, mixed-use Victoria development at Bayview Place. OASIS by Element in Langley has outlined further plans for its 17-acre development in the city’s Jericho neighbourhood.

The Victoria development is a $75-million, harbor-side residence to include 50 condos, 70 rentals and 35 licensed care units. The development is expected to complete by 2020.

“Element believes in the value that a mixed use, vibrant and growing community brings to its, aging-in-place model,” says Don Ho, president, Element Lifestyle Retirement Inc. “The company is excited to participate in the realization of the vision behind a master-planned, amenity-rich community on Victoria’s harbor We have been very pleased with the success of our flagship model, Opal in Vancouver. Our strategy for growth will be to develop under our branded intergenerational model, in similarly central locations that are rich with neighbourhood amenities.”

Element presented its master plan for OASIS in Langley at a Public Information Meeting at the Langley Events Centre on Sept. 8. The project's rezoning process in well underway.

“OASIS by element™ presents an intergenerational perspective designed to meet the diverse cultural and social needs of Langley. Seniors, adult children, and grandchildren will live, work, learn and play within the same community to create a dynamic community experience geared to create family memories and peace of mind,” the release states.

Both Langley and Victoria properties will be intergenerational communities welcoming residents of all ages.
