A new, massive mixed-use development is coming soon near Calgary.

Genesis Land Development Corp. has received approval to develop a 185-acre site in Rocky View County, north of Calgary. The development group is finalizing plans for the project, titled The Omni by Genesis.

“The Omni is well positioned for a multiplicity of uses within this important family-oriented trade region,” reads the developer’s vision statement.

Genesis will “uniquely integrate seven key pillars of offerings:”

  • House & Home District
  • Convenience Retail District
  • The OMNI Outlet Centre
  • The Village & Showcase District
  • The Legacy District,
  • The Hospitality & Wellness District
  • The OMNI Work District

Preliminary plans for the site include: 600,000 square feet of showcase retail; a 325,000-square-foot outlet centre; 60,000 square feet of restaurant space; three hotels; 250 units of senior living; and a 500,000-square-foot office campus.
