Western Investor is famous for the breadth of its commercial real estate listings. It is perhaps the only publication in Canada where investors can find a high-rise office tower, a remote waterfront lodge, a golf course, an industrial warehouse or a small-town bowling alley for sale within its pages.
We often feature unique listings and this week waterfront retreats drew our attention.
Lakefront cottage for $225,000
Nimpo Lake in B.C.’s Chilcotin is about 290 kilometres west of Williams Lake, near the village of Nimpo Lake, but for buyers of this off-grid lakefront cottage the remote nature may be a bonus. The 625-square-foot cottage is propane-powered, has one bedroom and is set on 1.3 acres of lakefront accessible by a year-round road. It is listed by 3A Group RE/MAX Nyda Realty, Agassiz, B.C.
Burns Lake waterfront for $159,900
A 3.11-acre lakefront property on Burns Lake, B.C. is accessible only by water, ensuring tranquillity and privacy, with 200 ft of pristine lake frontage. A 600-square-foot outbuilding could be finished into a cabin. It is listed by LandQuest Realty, New Westminster.
Porcher Island 5-bedroom waterfront for $229,000
Five-bedroom 2,496 square-foot waterfront house is located in the island community of Oona River, a seaside village on Porcher Island in the Hecate Strait, near Prince Rupert. Access is by ferry, float plane or boat. It could be B&B or used as west coast retreat or year-round living. It is listed by LandQuest Realty, New Westminster.
Gambier Island luxury for $2.05 million
This listing is considered affordable waterfront because it is close to West Vancouver, where the average bungalow is priced north of $3 million. This 9.1-acre oceanfront estate on Gambier Island includes a custom-built luxury house, an extensive off-grid solar power system, 200 feet of private waterfront and a marina with moorage. It is listed by Colliers Unique Properties, Vancouver.
