A 131-acre golf course near the Victoria International Airport is up for sale but the listing broker confirms it is not a real estate development play.
The Glen Meadows Golf & Country Club is listed at $5.88 million, with an adjacent 2.3-acre parking lot offered at $888,000.
The property encompasses an 18-hole golf course on approximately 129 acres, and the parking lot. A driving range, practice putting green, maintenance and storage sheds and full complement of golf course maintenance equipment are included in the sale by the original owners.
“We are not suggesting that there is a development play here,” said Randy Holt, vice-president of Newmark Knight Frank Devencore, which listed the 55-year-old golf course May 3.
“The golf course is in the Agricultural Land Reserve and the Official Community Plan in North Saanich also offers no encouragement for non-agricultural development,” Holt said.
However, the parking lot does have existing zoning for a potential two-lot subdivision for single-family detached housing.
