Private island next to Tofino selling for $10 million

A 21.5-acre island on Canada's very west coast has hit the market.

A 21.5-acre island on Canada's very west coast has hit the market.

Located just off Tofino (which itself is located on Vancouver Island's west coast), Neilson Island (also known as Bond Island) has been listed for an even $10 million.

The large island, which sits less than one kilometre from the resort community of Tofino, is a single property with just a house and a guest cabin.

The main house is tucked away in the dense forest with views of the ocean through the trees. The custom home was built in 2013 with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It features plenty of exposed wood beams and large windows.

Along with the two buildings, there's also a large wooden deck, a covered picnic area, and several seating areas around the island property.

It's also wholly off the grid; power is generated through some large solar panels.

The island has views of Tofino, Meares Island, and part of Clayoquot Sound.
