A joint venture involving Telus, Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust and Westbank will push another Calgary landmark tower into the sky in the city’s downtown core.
The firms are combining to develop what will be known as TELUS Sky, situated on the northeast corner of Seventh Avenue S.W. and Centre Street.
The 58-storey tower will top out at 220 metres, leaving it about 16 metres shorter than The Bow, Calgary’s tallest skyscraper only a block to the north.
The new tower will be a mixed-use project, with 26 floors of office space (430,000 square feet) and 32 floors of residential rental apartments.
Telus will be the major tenant for office space, with the communications giant expected to gobble up about 155,000 square feet.
Telus Sky is projected to open in 2017.
