Home prices up in Calgary

Whether it's in the inner city or the 'burbs, that Calgary home was generally priced higher in February. Calgary Real Estate Board data says the average single-family home selling price in the city hit $518,452 in February, up 10.

Calgary Real Estate Board data says the average single-family home selling price in the city hit $518,452 in February, up 10.3 per cent from a year ago. This marks the first time the price has averaged over $500,000 and reflects 1,209 sales in February and 2,317 sales in the first two months of 2013.

While single-family home prices are up dramatically from a year ago, condo-apartment prices in February averaged $287,829, a 0.4 per cent decline from 12 months ago.

Total year-to-date sales were up by about 11.3 per cent for single-family homes and 2.6 per cent for apartment condos.
