The City of Calgary has decided it will no longer keep running the McCall Lake Golf Course south of Alberta's busiest airport. Instead, it wants to close the course and repurpose the land for an industrial area and "recreational campus with green-space connections."

In a city with growing demand for industrial land, the 263-acre McCall Lakes property on the south side of McKnight Boulevard will have some definite appeal for investors.

The city has identified the eventual sale and development of the property as a source of revenue to fund re-investment in other properties in its system of municipally owned and run golf courses.
