The Calgary Real Estate Forum is held October 25 at the Telus Convention Centre featuring a full-day dissection of the city’s commercial real estate market.
An anticipated session is a panel discussion on real estate investment in a city where office transactions have stalled and construction financing has wilted, even as construction costs increase. The panel is moderated by Francis Tam, of Pure Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust, and includes Steven Hart, managing director of CMLS Financial, Michael Hoffman, associate director, ATB Financial and Derek Wasson, vice-president of Trez Capital.
The, some say surprising, strength of the retail sector will be covered in a panel “Waiting for the other shoe to drop”, led by Darryl Schmidt of Cadilllac Fairview Corp.
Another packed session is expected to be a close look at the challenges in rebuilding Fort McMurray after its devastating fire in May.
