The heavy-oil service centre of Lloydminster is looking to another busy year in development after a record building-permits year in 2012.

Straddling the Alberta-Saskatchewan boundary, Lloydminster enjoyed $188.7 million in new building projects in 2012 (up from a healthy 2011), most in the residential sector, which saw 586 new residential dwellings built (348 in AB; 238 in SK).
