The Vancouver Real Estate Forum will focus on the future of the market after a tumultuous 2016, offering predictions and advice on how to approach real estate investment in 2017.

The conference takes place on Tuesday, April 11 and features several presentations sponsored by high-profile real estate brokers, developers and financial groups, included Colliers International, Cadillac Fairview and Coast Capital Savings. Hani Lamman, executive vice president of Cressey Development Group, will serve as forum chair.

There are three groups of concurrent sessions taking place throughout the day. Registered guests will choose one session to attend from each group.

Multi-family property specialist Mark Goodman at The Goodman Report will moderate a panel on issues facing tenants and investors interested in entering the rental apartment market in the first batch of sessions. The panel will address how the Trump-effect, the foreign buyer tax and low cap rates will impact investment in multi-family stock. Alternative options in the 10:30 a.m. series of sessions are a panel on the tight industrial market in Metro Vancouver and capital lending. Some of the presentations included in other sessions include a panel on foreign investment in B.C., the downtown and suburban office market, First Nations land development, and the retail market.

Prior to the conference, there is an optional, exclusive presentation on Western Canada apartment construction on April 10.
