The Edward Chapman building site in downtown Vancouver may be the location of a new 13-storey hotel.

Executive Group of Companies acquired the West Pender Street for $19 million in January. The 6,240-square-foot site was home to an Edward Chapman Ltd. menswear store.

Executive Hotels & Resorts plan to develop the site into a 106-room hotel, complete with a ground floor restaurant and a rooftop patio. An application to redevelop the site was submitted to The City of Vancouver last week.

The proposal details a total building height of 153.7 feet and a total floor area of 63,865 square feet.

The site is currently under Downtown District (DD) zoning, meaning the application is “conditional” and may be permitted pending decision of the Development Permit Board.

Studio One Architecture will design the building.
